Facebook Messenger Rolls Out Publicly Accessed User Information

Facebook messenger rolls out basic user information feature; it will show basic user information for all messages from random people or people who are not your friends. This feature shows publicly shared information such as Job title and location and will be shown at the top of chat threads for both the users.

This feature will help users to know who they are talking to and will give them additional power to instantly block or allow random people from contacting them. This information will also be shown if you are friends and chatting for the first time or haven’t chatted for a long time. The information shown will be limited according to the profile of the user. If the user has limited Facebook profile information the information shown on the top of chat thread will be limited and if the user have open Facebook profile information the information shown in the messenger will also be open.

The update will be available for both the iOS and Android versions of Facebook Messenger. The update has started rolling out in some countries including US, UK, France and India and soon will be available in other countries.
