NITB to Provide Working Space for National Incubation Project

During the 44th Board of Directors meeting of National ICT R&D Fund here in Islamabad, Minister of state for IT & Telecom Anusha Rehman said that young and fresh entrepreneurs are our strength and we are concentrating on their capacity building through a proper policy measure. Hence we have decided to establish a state of the art “National Incubation Center“ and National Information Technology Board (NITB) has decided to offer space for the project.

Federal Secretary IT Mr. Azmat Ali Ranjha, Acting CEO ICT R&D Fund Co, Dr. Syed Ismail Shah ,Member Telecom Mudassar Hussain, Member HR Tahir Mushtaq and other board members also attended the meeting.

Board deliberated different aspects of RFP for National Incubation Center, which is being prepared by the ICT R&D fund company. It is the need of the time that fresh IT graduates are invigorated for entrepreneurship by offering them a beneficial environment to begin and increase their own IT businesses.

The Federal Government is pursuing a three branched strategy for ICT development all over the country which involves provision of sponsorships for placing fiber optics and broadband proliferation especially in underserved areas, Infrastructure development and technical training.

It worth mentioning that ICT R&D Fund has already hovered an advertisement for “Proposal of Interests” from appropriate professionals and agencies for setting up of a “Tech City”. The Fund will assist elevation of ICT start-ups, incubators, technology spurt programmes as well as Human Resource Development.
