Technology Helps LWMC Launch Effective Cleanliness Activities Throughout Lahore

The smartphone app introduced by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)  helps in providing Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) with pictorial proof of cleanliness activities going on through geo-tagging. The insights about KPIs provides staff attendance on a specific location, update on planned activities falling under towns, zones and union councils, and assists LWMC measure the achievements of KPIs.

Lahore Waste Management Company effectively carried out cleanliness activities during Eid with the help of PITB developed app. The dashboard provided insight into the success of planned activities across Lahore. Citizens were astonished by the excellent arrangements made by the government in order to maintain cleanliness in the cities on Eid-ul-Azha and were thankful to the government. Solid Waste Management and TMAs are performing their duties professionally for the past many years on the order of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.

Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), established under City District Government Lahore, has emerged as an innovative organization, undertaking a number of interesting initiatives within its domain. LWMC is in the process of making an integrated waste management system that guarantees fast collection, transportation and disposal of waste on designated sites in Lahore. For this purpose Lahore has been divided into two zones, on the basis of waste loads, and separate contracts have been awarded to two international contractors, M/s Al-Bayark in Zone I and M/s OzPak in Zone II.
