NGMS Spectrum Auction For the 3G and 4G Spectrum Left Unsold

The third meeting of the Advisory Committee under the chairperson ship of the Minister of State for IT and telecom Mrs.Anusha Rahman for the impending Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) Spectrum Auction for the spectrum left unsold in the last auction which was held on 2nd March, 2016.

Federal secretary IT Mr.Azmat Ali Ranjha,chairman PTA Syed Ismael shah,  members of Advisory Committee,  senior officials from Ministry of IT, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Law & Justice, PTA and FAB were also attended the meeting.

The committee reviewed the Market Assessment report which was presented by PTA’s Consultant and other relevant market and spectrum demand information and discussed various permutations to ensure optimum outcomes of the auction.

The Committee decided to form a sub-committee of experts based on the bulk of information available and multitude of options, under the chairmanship of Chairman PTA. The committe was ordered to do a techno economic review of the options for the guidance of the Committee to reach an informed decision regarding the auction. The sub-committee will submit its analysis before the next meeting of the ASC.
